30 Year Reunion
On Sunday 26th May the 47th Area Support Group held their first UK reunion at 'The Woodlands' in Great Sankey. The event was organised by Glenn Perlakowski and his wife Linda. It was a bright sunny day and the turn-out was encouraging for the first of what is hoped will be a regular event. See the pictures below. Recent Developments
In recent months there has been some development on the former airfield and Chaz been out with his camera. Below is a view from just south of Mary Ann site looking north west. The brick building to the left is (apparently) an electricity sub-station. To the right are houses built on Site 1.
Below is the sub-station under construction. The view is from Burtonwood Road looking south west towards Mary Ann Site
A view from Burtonwood Road of Fiddlers Ferry Power station.....more importantly the cordoned-off area in the foreground is our Pickett-Hamilton fort.
Below is a view looking north west from Burtonwood Road over the M62 motorway. The motorway is aligned with the main runway and the warehouses being erected in the distance are located on A and E Sites
