Sgt Ivan E. Inskeep

Here in an email received at this site on the 18th July 2010

Dear Sir/Madam,

Yesterday, whilst walking in the woods near Gulivers World, Warrington, I noticed a small piece of metal protruding from the soil. When I picked it up, it turned out to be a military ID badge, named to...

SGT IVAN E. INSKEEP
LEAD PROGRESS MAN

I'm wondering whether it would be possible to identify this man, so I could return his badge to him, or his family.

Kindest regards,
Lee Woods

Can anyone shed any light on the badge or the man?  Lee has already done some research and come up with some details.  He would like to return the badge to its rightful owner.
